Where should you store your apples?

Posted by on 4/7/2017

Answer: In the refrigerator!

Did you know?
  • Apples should be stored at 30 - 35 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Storing them in colder conditions will cause the cells to break down, leading to mushy, inedible apples
  • Storing them in conditions that are warmer by only 10 degrees Fahrenheit can cause the apples to ripen twice as quickly.
  • One bad apple really can rot the bunch since apples produce a large amount of ethylene gas as they decay. As a result, you should not store damaged apples with undamaged apples.
